Lights, camera, action! This wood duck was ready for his close up. Previously, I had spent countless hours over the span of a few weeks watching this group of wood ducks swim around in the shade partially hidden by the trees which had begun to change colors as the cool weather settled in. But this day was different. After watching the group swim around the pond, this male wood duck took center stage and his big personality shined through. It was a joy to capture this action shot of my favorite bird!
